1. About these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Compound Strategy Lab, including its compound-interest visualizer, Strategy Lab, calculators, simulations, historical backtests, templates, documentation, downloadable files, and related website features (collectively, the “Service”).
The Service is operated by [LEGAL OWNER NAME], doing business as Compound Strategy Lab and referred to in these Terms as “Compound Strategy Lab,” “we,” “us,” or “our.” By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, and Methodology. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What Compound Strategy Lab is—and is not
Compound Strategy Lab is an educational modeling and visualization tool. It lets you explore hypothetical financial scenarios involving compound growth, investments, savings, debt, retirement accounts, real estate, digital assets, liquidity pools, staking, lending, and cash-flow strategies.
Compound Strategy Lab does not hold, receive, transmit, invest, or manage money or digital assets; connect to financial accounts; execute trades or transfers; provide personalized financial, investment, tax, legal, accounting, insurance, or lending advice; or act as an investment adviser, broker-dealer, fiduciary, lender, exchange, or custodian. No professional or fiduciary relationship is created by your use of the Service.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use the Service. If you use the Service for a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms. You may use the Service only where doing so is lawful, and you are responsible for complying with laws that apply to you.
4. Educational use; models and results
All calculators, projections, simulations, templates, examples, explanations, historical data, and other content are provided for general educational and informational purposes. Nothing on the Service is an offer, solicitation, endorsement, or recommendation to buy, sell, borrow, lend, stake, hold, or otherwise transact in any security, financial product, digital asset, real property, loan, insurance product, or investment strategy.
The Service produces estimates based on user-selected assumptions and simplified mathematical models. Rates of return, yields, volatility, inflation, taxes, fees, contribution limits, asset prices, debt rates, liquidity-pool behavior, and cash flows may be incomplete, outdated, simplified, or materially different from real-world conditions. Projections are hypothetical; they are not promises, guarantees, forecasts, or statements of likely performance. Actual results may differ substantially, including the partial or complete loss of principal.
Historical backtests show how a modeled strategy might have performed during a selected period. They do not represent actual account performance and do not predict future results. Monte Carlo results and risk bands are statistical illustrations, not assurances that actual outcomes will fall within a displayed range. Review the Methodology and Disclaimer before relying on any output.
5. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for reviewing and validating every value, label, assumption, connection, and strategy you enter; determining whether information displayed by the Service is appropriate for your use; confirming current contribution limits, tax rules, interest rates, fees, laws, product terms, and market information through reliable sources; and maintaining independent copies of information you wish to preserve.
Do not enter passwords, private keys, seed phrases, Social Security numbers, bank or brokerage credentials, tax records, medical information, or other sensitive personal information into the Service. Seek advice from appropriately qualified professionals before making financial, legal, tax, investment, retirement, insurance, lending, or cryptocurrency decisions.
6. Browser storage, imports, and exports
The Service currently operates without user accounts. Strategies, preferences, cached price information, and saved scenarios may be stored locally in your browser. Locally stored information may be lost if you clear browser data, change devices or browsers, use private browsing, experience device failure, or if browser storage becomes unavailable or corrupted. We are not responsible for loss of locally stored information.
The Service may allow you to import or export strategy files. You are responsible for reviewing files before importing them, storing exported files securely, and controlling where you share them. Do not import files from sources you do not trust. Exported files may contain assumptions, labels, and values you entered; anyone who receives a file may be able to view that information.
7. Accounts
Compound Strategy Lab does not currently provide user accounts. If account features are introduced, we may require registration and additional terms. You would be responsible for providing accurate information, protecting your login credentials, and notifying us promptly of suspected unauthorized access. We will update these Terms and the Privacy Policy before introducing account features that materially change how information is collected, stored, or used.
8. Acceptable use
You may use the Service only for lawful, personal, educational, or internal business purposes. You may not misuse the Service; violate applicable law, regulation, contractual obligation, or third-party rights; interfere with its operation; bypass security controls, rate limits, or technical restrictions; introduce malware or harmful code; probe or test vulnerabilities without permission; or use automated systems in a way that creates an unreasonable burden on the Service.
You also may not use the Service to provide regulated financial services without all required licenses and disclosures; present modeled, simulated, or historical results as guaranteed, audited, or actual results; misrepresent your relationship with Compound Strategy Lab; remove proprietary notices; infringe another person's rights; or use the Service for fraud, deception, market manipulation, unlawful lending, money laundering, sanctions evasion, or other illegal activity.
9. Intellectual property
The Service and its original design, software, text, graphics, visualizations, branding, arrangement, and other content are owned by Compound Strategy Lab or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to access and use the Service for lawful personal, educational, or internal business purposes.
This license does not transfer ownership or permit you to sell, license, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, commercially exploit, or create derivative works from protected portions of the Service except with our prior written permission or as applicable law permits. Open-source software and third-party materials remain subject to their respective licenses and terms. “Compound Strategy Lab,” its logo, and related branding may not be used in a way that suggests sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation without prior written permission.
10. Your content and feedback
As between you and Compound Strategy Lab, you retain any rights you have in strategy names, labels, assumptions, values, and other original material you enter into the Service (“Your Content”). Because the current Service operates locally in your browser, Compound Strategy Lab does not ordinarily receive Your Content. If you voluntarily send it to us for support or feedback, you grant us a limited license to access, reproduce, and use it only as reasonably necessary to respond, investigate a problem, protect the Service, or comply with law.
You represent that you have the right to use any content you import into the Service. If you voluntarily provide ideas, suggestions, or general feedback that does not contain confidential information, you permit us to use it without restriction or compensation. This does not give us ownership of your strategy data or personal information.
11. Third-party information and services
The Service may display, retrieve, reference, or rely on information from third parties, including market-data providers, index or fund proxies, cryptocurrency price sources, open-source projects, and linked websites. Third-party information may be delayed, unavailable, inaccurate, incomplete, revised, or subject to different calculation methods. Display of a third-party name, asset, protocol, product, or link does not constitute endorsement, sponsorship, affiliation, or a recommendation.
Your use of third-party websites, software, data, and services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Compound Strategy Lab does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, conduct, or data practices. The Service may request current cryptocurrency market information from third-party providers; their handling of ordinary network and device information is described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how the Service handles information, including browser storage and information that may be processed by hosting, security, or third-party service providers. By using the Service, you acknowledge those practices. If these Terms conflict with the Privacy Policy regarding personal information, the Privacy Policy controls.
13. Availability, changes, suspension, and termination
We may modify, update, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We do not guarantee that the Service or any particular feature, calculation, dataset, template, or saved strategy will remain available. The Service may experience interruptions, errors, data loss, compatibility problems, security incidents, or delays. You are responsible for maintaining independent backups of information you wish to keep.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access if we reasonably believe that you violated these Terms or applicable law; your use creates a security, legal, or operational risk; or we discontinue the Service. Where reasonably practical, we may provide notice before termination. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual-property provisions, disclaimers, liability limitations, indemnification, and dispute provisions, will remain effective.
14. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”
Compound Strategy Lab and its owners, affiliates, licensors, data providers, and service providers disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, and warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. We do not warrant that the Service will be accurate, complete, current, secure, available, or error-free; that calculations, simulations, projections, historical data, or other results will be correct or suitable for your purposes; that defects will be corrected; or that the Service will be free of harmful components.
15. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COMPOUND AND ITS OWNERS, AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, DATA PROVIDERS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, SAVINGS, DATA, GOODWILL, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, INVESTMENT VALUE, DIGITAL ASSETS, OR USE.
This limitation applies to claims arising from or related to your use of or inability to use the Service; reliance on any calculation, projection, simulation, backtest, template, dataset, or other content; financial decisions; loss or corruption of locally stored or exported information; third-party data or services; and unauthorized access, interruptions, errors, or security incidents.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COMPOUND'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID COMPOUND TO USE THE SERVICE DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR 100 U.S. DOLLARS. These limitations apply regardless of legal theory and do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
16. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Compound Strategy Lab and its owners, affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, and reasonable legal expenses arising from your unlawful or prohibited use of the Service; your material violation of these Terms; your infringement or violation of another person's rights; content or files you import, distribute, publish, or share; or your representation of modeled results as guaranteed, actual, audited, or endorsed by Compound Strategy Lab.
17. Dispute resolution
Informal resolution. Before filing a lawsuit, you and Compound Strategy Lab agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally. The party raising the dispute must send written notice describing the issue and requested resolution to the contact address below. The receiving party will have 30 days after receiving the notice to respond. Either party may seek immediate temporary or emergency relief when necessary to prevent imminent harm or preserve legal rights.
Courts and venue. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in [COUNTY], [STATE]. You and Compound Strategy Lab consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts. These Terms do not require arbitration and do not waive any right to a jury trial or participation in a class action.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable rights you may have under the consumer-protection laws of your state of residence. If a provision is unenforceable under applicable law, it will be enforced to the greatest extent permitted.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, our practices, applicable law, or security requirements. Revised Terms will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will apply prospectively and, when reasonably practical, will be accompanied by additional notice on the Service. Your continued use after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to an update, stop using the Service.
20. General terms
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, Methodology, and any feature-specific terms presented to you, form the entire agreement between you and Compound Strategy Lab concerning the Service. If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, asset transfer, or transfer of the Service, subject to applicable law. These Terms do not create rights for anyone other than you and Compound Strategy Lab, except for parties expressly protected by the warranty, liability, and indemnification provisions.
